machinal

The rules of society are clear. The young woman must keep her head down. Must marry, must bear a child. But the young woman hears a different rhythm inside herself. And it compels her to forge her own identity at the risk of all else.

Machinal is a 1928 play by American playwright and journalist Sophie Treadwell, inspired by the real-life case of convicted and executed murderer Ruth Snyder

Both Machinal and Andorra were produced as part of the Ma showcase and share a basic stage framework.
